10 – 12 June, Leeuwarden

About ACR+

The Association of Cities and Regions for sustainable Resource management (ACR+) is an international network of cities and regions dedicated to promoting a sustainable resource management and accelerating the transition towards a circular economy to ensure wellbeing for all in the limits of our planet. ACR+ thrives to equip its members with concrete tools and approaches to empower them to implement waste-free circular systems in their territories and beyond. Recognizing that circular economy requires collaboration among all actors, ACR+ also welcome all key players in material resource management, including NGOS, academic institutions, consultancy or private organisations.
Each year, the annual General Assembly is a window on the network and its work, providing a platform for members and guest experts to exchange insights, address current challenges, and strengthen connections within the network.

About Fryslân

Fryslân is a province in the north of the Netherlands. With 650,000 inhabitants, innovative business activity, involved knowledge institutions and cooperating governments, it has now been working for 10 years towards a common goal: to be a leader in the transition to a circular economy. The Circular Friesland Association serves as a catalyst and platform of cooperation in this respect. Regional, national and European cooperation is essential for a region to make strides in the circular economy.
Therefore, Fryslân is an ambitious partner in several European projects. The province has also been a proud member, and since 2020 a permanent part of the board of directors, of ACR+ since 2018. In 2025, we will be 10 years on the road in our collaborative approach. We cordially invite you to celebrate this with us, and to continue working together on what binds us: ambitious, creative and purposeful making the circular economy.

About EWWR

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) is the biggest campaign to raise awareness about waste prevention in Europe. Driven by local and regional public authorities, the EWWR brings together all sorts of other actors — citizens, schools, businesses, NGOs, associations — who organise activities to raise awareness about waste reduction. Every year, the EWWR draws the attention on a different aspect of waste prevention linked to high impact areas related to our unsustainable production and consumption habits as a society. In 2024, the EWWR focused on food waste, changing the way we produce, consume and distribute food in Europe. The 15 most outstanding actions of the 12 724 actions (across 29 countries in Europe and beyond) carried out during that edition will be in the spotlight of the annual EWWR Awards Ceremony in Leeuwarden.
